Questions & Answers > Hair Loss  > When To Replace Your Wig

Wigs are designed to look great every time you wear it.  However, after several months of regular wear, you may notice that your style doesn't hold its shape all day like it used to, or that the color isn't as vibrant.  These could be signs that it's time to order a new wig.

As a general rule of thumb, a wig that you wear every day should hold for about three months.  If you wear it less frequently, it will last even longer.

Telltale Signs That It's Time To Replace Your Wig

  • Color has dulled.

  • Hair looks frizzy.

  • Wig has lost its luster.

  • Style doesn't hold its shape all day.

  • Wig doesn't feel as comfortable or secure.

Keep an Extra Style on Hand

Some women choose to keep two wigs on hand.  This can be very convenient, particularly if you wear your wig every day.  That way, you can wash one while you wear the other, giving yourself the flexibility and reliability of always having one ready to wear at a moment's notice.  You can also alternate wigs to maintain freshness and beauty.
